The Penitentiary is wheel chair accessible in some parts. The entire area is connected with pavement. However, there is a step to view inside one of the cells. There is also a Museum. If you take a look at the website "Old Idaho Penitentiary" then click on the link for the 360* views, you will see all the walkways, and the 2 places that have steps. I would definitely go. I have taken our wheelchair there and did not miss anything that I was interested in. Great old history and sites.

The guided tour probably last about a hour, I preferred the self guided so I was there for several hours, taking pictures and going through the different buildings. They have a great weapons/war history museum on site that can also take several hours. Hope this helps
