Tens of thousands of US government workers have resigned in recent months, unable to bear what many describe as a hostile and uncertain work environment under President Donald Trump’s second-term push to slash the size of the federal government.

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order that enabled the administration to fire tens of thousands of federal workers and to eliminate certain agencies entirely.

The sweeping Republican bill to enact President Trump’s domestic agenda is in danger of derailing even before it reaches the House floor. Two conservative Republicans on the Budget Committee said they would not vote to approve it out of that panel in a vote scheduled for Friday,

The Trump administration on Friday requested the Supreme Court permit it to proceed immediately with its plan to lay off tens of thousands of workers across federal agencies, Politico reported.
