Ben Simmons' career is at a crossroads. After failing to impress in the Los Angeles Clippers, he is now facing free agency. Posting on social media, the former rookie of the year might have given us a clue as to where he will be playing next year.
One Western Conference team was rumored to be a suitor for Simmons. The Phoenix Suns, who recently bought out Bradley Beal so he could sign with the Clippers, have an open roster spot with an immense amount of cap flexibility.
The Suns will now reset with an overhauled roster in the wake of Beal’s buyout and the June 22 trade that sent Durant to the Rockets in exchange for Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, draft picks Khaman Muluach, Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea and one additional second-rounder.
Golden State has had a slow offseason, but coming away with Horford, Simmons and Seth Curry would be a great set of moves to add more winning presence on a team trying to make the most of the end of the careers of Steph, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler.
