Brock Purdy is one of the NFL’s most polarizing players. NFL pundits and fans either believe Purdy’s an elite quarterback worthy of the lucrative contract extension he surely will sign soon or that he’s a game manager who is a byproduct of the offensive weapons on the 49ers’ roster.

The San Francisco 49ers purged a portion of their roster this offseason and loaded up in the 2025 NFL Draft with young players on rookie-scale contracts in anticipation of a Brock Purdy contract extension. After months of negotiations, it appears a deal could be coming very soon.
