Caitlin Clark had her number retired at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday. With JuJu Watkins and USC in town, Iowa decided to honor Clark in the most high-profile fashion imaginable. Clark arrived ahead of the game with a police escort through the bowels of the stadium before taking her seat to a massive ovation from the crowd full of fans who all recieved special commemorative towels adorned with Clark's name and number.

Clark hasn't stopped producing since leaving Iowa City. The No. 1 overall draft pick earned Rookie of the Year and first-team All-WNBA honors while leading the Indiana Fever back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016 and powering a surge in WNBA interest.

Among a sold-out crowd at Carver-Hawkeye Arena are some notable faces, both locally and nationally, in attendance for the Iowa-USC matchup and Caitlin Clark’s jersey retirement on Sunday  Most notably,

Caitlin Clark is returning to the place where she became college basketball’s all-time leading scorer and led Iowa to appearances in the NCAA national championship game the last two seasons while winning the national player of the year award twice.

It’s a message that Jensen has reiterated to her team and herself throughout this season.
