Police in Antioch on Friday confirmed the arrest of a woman who allegedly left her four young children unattended at a home that a Contra Costa Fire hazmat crew determined to be uninhabitable, authorities said.

A mom in Antioch was arrested Thursday after authorities say they discovered four young children alone in what was determined to be an "uninhabitable" home.

A mother was arrested and her four children placed into the hands of Child and Family Services on Thursday after a passer-by saw a 2-year-old alone outside, police said. Police were at the house in the 2000 block of Spruce Way when the children’s 36-year-old mother arrived home.
