U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is “strong and unpredictable,” and those qualities can be a decisive factor in his policy approach to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Thursday that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump could be decisive in the outcome of the 34-month-old war with Russia and help stop Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine hailed the end of the gas transit deal amid Russia's invasion. But Russia said European living standards will suffer.

The deal to transport gas via the war-torn country to the rest of the continent expired, meaning Europe won't be able to access Russian gas via Ukraine

The deal, which was signed in 2019, has survived three years of war but its expiration means European states reliant on Russian gas won't be able to access it via Ukraine.
