Sgt. Quornelius Radford's father said he hadn't noticed anything unusual but his son was seeking a transfer and complained of racism at Fort Stewart.

Of the five wounded soldiers, three were released from the hospital, one remains hospitalized at Fort Stewart, while the final soldier is at a Savannah, Georgia, hospital, officials said. It is still an active investigation. Update 7:02 a.m. ET Aug. 6: The alleged gunman was identified as Sgt. Quornelius Radford, 28, The Associated Press reported.
