Hisense goes big with new TriChroma LED TV and a consumer microLED
We’re gonna admit it. The new Hisense TriChroma LED TV took us by surprise here at CES 2025, and piqued our interest to high levels. The unveiling of the 116-inch 116UX introduces what looks to be a new step forward in mini-LED display technology, but we also do have questions. First, here’s what we know.

Hisense Reveals Two New Giant TVs — One Debuting Tri-Chroma LED TV Technology And One Using MicroLEDs
The most eye-catching of the two in terms of showcasing a new technology that we can expect to spread down to less gigantic and so more affordable/mainstream screens is the 116-inch 116UX, which as well as simply being huge also marks the consumer debut of Hisense’s new RGB Local Dimming Display Technology.
Hisense’s TriChroma TV could be the middle ground between Mini LED and MicroLED
For some people, there’s at least more of a chance of actually owning the also-new 116-inch TriChroma LED TV. That’s because, at its core, this is still a Mini LED set. But Hisense has developed a new local dimming system that it calls “RGB Local Dimming Technology.” The key benefit here seems to be color vibrance:
