Multiple people were injured by gunfire in a shooting near Indiana University's campus just after midnight on Sunday during Little 500 weekend.

Plainfield police officers fatally shot a bank robbery suspect in Clayton, Indiana, on April 22, 2026. Police said officers immediately provided medical aid to the suspect and transported him to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine said the suspect died from his injuries.
