Tottenham Hotspur have signed Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the loan signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich until the end of the season. The deal includes an option to buy Tel for €55million (£45.7m; $56.9m) on a six-year contract. Tel is Spurs’ fourth signing of the window after goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky, forward Yang Min-hyeok and centre-back Kevin Danso (also on loan).

Tottenham secured the deadline day signing of Mathys Tel in a major boost to Ange Postecoglou. The Spurs boss had been desperate to strengthen in attack to help combat an ongoing injury crisis and the club won the race to sign the 19-year-old winger from Bayern Munich.
