The Indiana Pacers defeated the New York Knicks 125-108 to win the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals in six games and advance to the franchise’s first NBA Finals since 2000.

The New York Knicks' NBA Playoffs run came to an end Saturday night after the Indiana Pacers carried on their remarkable 2025 season with a trip to the NBA Finals, but Knicks fans are already thinking about what the team could look like come the fall.

After losing to the Pacers in six games in the Eastern Conference finals, the Knicks will have all summer to contemplate what went wrong.

Indiana pulled away from New York in Game 6 on Saturday night, setting up a matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder to decide a championship.

Yet, according to The Athletic’s James L. Edwards III and Fred Katz, coach Thibodeau still has strong “backing” from team president Leon Rose, plus from two-time All-Star point guard Jalen Brunson. That may be all the support Thibodeau needs to return next season.

Indiana defeated the New York Knicks in six games in the Eastern Conference finals, capping it off with a 125-108 win in Game 6 on Saturday night. Indiana will take on NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA Finals, which begin Thursday (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC).

Pascal Siakam scored 31 points, Tyrese Haliburton had 21 points and 13 assists and the Indiana Pacers pulled away for a 125-108 victory over the New York Knicks to reach the NBA Finals.
