National Guard troops arrived in Los Angeles early Sunday on the order of President Trump after protests roiled the city in recent days as federal law enforcement officers carried out immigration operations in the region.

President Donald Trump deployed the National Guard to California following escalating violence among some anti-ICE protesters in Los Angeles.

Trump slammed Gov. Gavin Newsom, who previously called Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops to California “deranged.”
