French livestreamer Jean Pormanove died Monday near Nice during a violent live-stream. French authorities have now opened an investigation into the live-streamed death.

Popular American streamer Adin Ross and rapper Drake, who serve as ambassadors for the livestreaming platform Kick, said they will be covering the costs of Graven’s funeral.

Raphaël Graven died Monday during a livestream on Kick. For months, he endured humiliation and physical abuse. The site, known for its relatively lax moderation, was aware of the content on his channel and regularly promoted it.

Raphael Graven, who went by Jean Pormanove online, had more than a million followers across social media - but was particularly popular on the Twitch-like streaming platform Kick.
