Fans of Formula One have been debating why McLaren has been so dominant this season, but a new report claims Red Bull figured it out and approached FIA about it. The fact that Max Verstappen then went on to win last weekend after changes were instituted by the governing body only adds fuel to the fire of these accusations.

Red Bull have reportedly been ‘bombarding’ the FIA as the McLaren tyre saga begins to heat up. The British constructor had been accused of illegally using liquid to cool their tyres.

The FIA appears to have issued two Technical Directives prior to the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. It cannot be ruled out that this is why Red Bull Racing was so strong, while McLaren had significantly less performance than in recent months.
