The 3M Open provides one of the last two opportunities for players to play their way into the FedEx Cup Playoffs and into the all-important top 100 to secure their PGA Tour card for next season. The top of the leaderboard after the first round features a player in Adam Svensson looking to do both after shooting a scintillating 11-under 60 on Thursday.

Adam Svensson, a 31-year-old Canadian with one PGA Tour victory, shot a course-record-tying 60 Thursday morning to take the early lead in the 3M Open at the TPC Twin Cities. Svensson made a 48-footer for eagle on the par-5 18th hole to tie the course and tournament record shared by Paul Goydos (2017) and Daniel Gale (2023).
