Daniil Medvedev has ended home favorite Alexander Zverev’s hopes of grass-court glory with a 7-6 (3), 6-7 (1), 6-4 win in their Halle Open semifinal.

Daniil Medvedev continued his impressive record against Alexander Zverev on Saturday to deny the German on home grass and reach the Halle final. The third seed prevailed 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (1-7), 6-4 over the second seed in the semi-final of the Wimbledon warm-up in the west of Germany.

Alexander Zverev's quest for a first grasscourt title took an unexpected turn at the Halle Open on Friday when the German second seed was forced to sprint from court to vomit mid-match before rallying to defeat Italy's Flavio Cobolli 6-4 7-6(8).
