Rookie VJ Edgecombe made the go-ahead follow shot with 0.9 seconds left, Tyrese Maxey raced back for a game-saving blocked shot and the Philadelphia 76ers beat the short-handed Golden State Warriors 99-98 on Thursday night.
The Warriors finally got their first lead of the game in the final three minutes with Gui Santos hitting a layup to go up 93-92. Golden State went up as much as 98-94 in the final minutes, but the 76ers scored three more points to make it 98-97 with 1:10 remaining.
The 76ers and Warriors make their final decisions on whether Joel Embiid and Steph Curry will suit up against each other on Thursday.
Edgecombe finished Thursday's 99-98 win over the Warriors with 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt), six rebounds, five assists and three steals in 24 minutes.
