Lincoln's 6-foot-6, 330-pound Zach Poole is continuing his football career not far from home at Illinois State.

Illinois State’s magical season has come to an end. The Redbirds fell, 35-34, to Montana State on Monday in overtime at the FCS national championship at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville.

It seems like everybody affiliated with Illinois State University is either in Nashville or will be in front of a television on Monday night. The ISU football team is playing Montana State University in the FCS national championship game in Nashville.

Iowa State football head coach Jimmy Rogers has announced his new support staff for his first season in Ames. The 10 staff members will assist in roster building and logistics. Iowa State highlighted Ricky Ciccone and Jon Schaeffer. Ciccone would serve as general manager for the program, which is the same role Derek Hoodjer had been in previously.

Chris Campbell has been named Iowa State football's director of football strength and conditioning. The announcement was made by head coach Jimmy Rogers on Jan. 2. Former Cyclone offensive lineman Tom Farniok will be part of Campbell's staff, as well as Nathan Peoples and Abe Spencer.
