After hundreds of Transportation Security Administration workers across the county have quit following a Department of Homeland Security shutdown that began last month, the Philadelphia International Airport has closed the security checkpoint in Terminal C due to a shortage of workers.

American Airlines is bringing back a direct flight from the Philadelphia International Airport to Santiago, Dominican Republic, just in time for the summer season. Flights are scheduled to begin May 21 and will be offered four times a week.
