The National Weather Service on March 12 issued winter storm warnings for most of north central Wisconsin.
AccuWeather predicts 6 to 10 inches for Madison and 10 to 20 inches for a segment of central Wisconsin that includes Wisconsin Dells and Stevens Point.
A developing storm could bring significant accumulating snow this weekend, but the exact track and totals remain uncertain.

High wind warning Friday for SE Wisconsin ahead of weekend snow
Southeast Wisconsin is in for a wild few days of weather that includes wind, rain, sleet and snow. Friday will start off with some early morning rain that should last through daybreak. There could be some rain-snow mix in the northern counties.
Wisconsin is looking at a wild week of weather, but at least it starts off warm & sunny! Breezy SW winds have kept overnight lows in the 40s. Plenty of sunshine will allow highs to climb well into the 60s — even making a run towards 70 in some spots.
