The tragic crash of Air India’s AI171 on June 12, which claimed 270 lives in one of the worst airline disasters in recent years, has triggered a crisis of confidence in Indian aviation.

India is investigating all possible causes—including sabotage—of last month’s Air India flight AI 171 crash in Ahmedabad that killed 274 people, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol said.

Investigations into the Air India Flight AI-171 crash are intensifying, with “possible sabotage” as one of the angles under scrutiny, Hindustan Times reported. Flight AI-171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after departing Ahmedabad on 12 June, marking the first fatal accident involving the Dreamliner model.
