After months of tension between President Donald Trump and the Supreme Court, the country’s high court ended its term by delivering its biggest win for Trump in his second administration, deciding to decrease the power of lower courts while increasing the president’s own.

As the conservative justices noted, the decision in Dobbs vs. Jackson Women’s Health did not outlaw abortion nationwide. However, it did allow conservative states to do so. Since then, 17 Republican-led states in the South and Midwest have adopted new laws to prohibit most or all abortions.

The Supreme Court has delivered a monumental victory for the Constitution, the separation of powers and the rule of law in striking down the excessive use of nationwide injunctions to interfere with the normal functioning of the executive branch.
