Volkswagen is recalling about 60,000 U.S. cars over a failure to display the gear position that could lead to a vehicle rolling away if the parking brake is not engaged.

Drivers can also call the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 to see if their car is affected by a recall. If all else fails, manufactures are required to notify affected car owners by mail once a recall has been initiated.

Volkswagen is recalling more than 191,000 vehicles, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. For a complete list of recalled vehicles or to see if your car needs repairs, check the NHTSA website.
