Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” and Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” dominated the U.K. and Ireland box office in May, driving the market to a robust £109.1 million ($147.7 million) total that represents a 50% increase over the same period last year, according to Comscore.

The Final Reckoning crosses a major milestone at the domestic box office after just being in theaters for less than three weeks.

With $131.89 million already in the kitty, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is now just a few million dollars away from becoming the 7th highest-grossing film in the franchise. Currently, the 7th spot is held by Mission: Impossible III ( $134.02 million ).
