U.S. Senator John Cornyn urged challenger Ken Paxton to "brush up on" the Ten Commandments in the latest back-and-forth between the two Texas Republicans. "Might want to brush up on the Ten Commandments, Ken," Cornyn wrote on X, responding to Paxton's call for school districts to begin displaying the religious text in classrooms.

Attorney General Ken Paxton's guidance comes days after U.S. District Judge Fred Biery sided with 16 families who sued their school districts to stop the law from going into effect.

The lawsuit follows Texas Senate Bill 10, which mandates the display of the Ten Commandments in every Texas classroom.
