WASHINGTON — To help pay for President Trump’s tax cuts, the Senate is clamping down on tactics that states use to boost federal Medicaid funding, according to legislation released by the Senate Finance Committee on Monday.

Senate Republicans will ask for bigger Medicaid cuts in its version of a bill to enact President Trump’s agenda, according to GOP aides familiar with the legislation. Details may be released later Monday.
