Michelle Hughes' 2012 Ford Fiesta has been repaired before and still given her problems but is running better after this week's fix.

Customers have mailed invoices to the Free Press reflecting recent charges for clutch repair and transmission control module repair despite the company's highly publicized announcement Aug. 14.

In the wake of transmission concerns in its Fiesta and Focus sedans and hatchbacks, Ford announced plans to extend warranty coverage on key hardware.

The number of complaints about the transmission in some Ford Focus and Fiesta models has more than doubled in the past two weeks, says Transport Canada.
