With Skylanders and Disney Infinity both offering this it will be interesting to see if Lego Dimensions also follows suit. There is also a light toys-to-life edge to the play here as well.

Lego Dimensions toys can be mixed and matched to your heart's content, but the game isn't built around that quality.

Lego Dimensions doesn't lean on your imagination to fuel its connection to the real world, it requires you to pick up and play with its toys and somehow, that makes everything a bit better.
