The View-Master Viewer DLX has a headphone connector and focal adjustment to make the virtual reality experience more realistic and the visuals even better.

Mattel gave its View-Master a 21st-century makeover last year, reimagining the device as a Google Cardboard-esque virtual reality viewer.

But the View-Master Virtual Reality Viewer, for ages 7 and up, is a jump up from the free Google Cardboard device you can make at home for free.

It did try to relaunch the brand with Google in 2015 in the form of the View-Master Virtual Reality Viewer, but the smartphone-linked device flopped and was discontinued in 2019.
