ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — Clifton Givens was arrested for armed robbery in Nocatee, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office. Around 4 a.m. on Jan. 18, deputies responded to the Daily’s on Settlement Drive for reports of an armed robbery.

Universities and colleges along the First Coast are starting to close in a domino effect in advance of the Winter storm that is hitting Florida Tuesday into Wednesday. By Tuesday afternoon, the area’s three most prominent universities and colleges had called it quits for some operations starting late Tuesday or Wednesday.

In July, the St. Johns County pier became basically defunct after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completed a sand replenishing project on the beach around the pier. Years of erosion had depleted the shoreline of sand and the beach renourishment effort was designed to restore the area of much-needed beach.
A Winter Storm Warning in effect for most of the First Coast, including all of Southeast Georgia. All of Duval County, Clay County and western Putnam County are now included in this warning. This goes from Tuesday 7 p.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
As a winter storm moves through Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, some school districts are beginning to announce if classes will resume.
