The Philadelphia Eagles' defense shut down the Detroit Lions' high-powered offense in a 16-9 win on Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Lions will take on the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles Sunday night in a potential NFC Championship Game preview. Kickoff for the highly-anticipated matchup is set for 8:20 p.m. (EST) at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Detroit Lions are visiting the Philadelphia Eagles in a possible NFC Championship game preview. The Lions are tied for the second-best record in the NFC and the Eagles are tied for the best record in the conference.
The long and short of it is that the Eagles' offense couldn't play its best against a banged-up team, asking its injured stars and reserves to give their best effort. That is perhaps the most disappointing takeaway from a game that could have allowed a struggling offensive coordinator and his players to build momentum.
Defensively, Detroit is in for a challenge--but again, the Eagles offense has been better in theory than in practice in 2025. Their vaunted offensive line hasn't been an impenetrable fortress around QB Jalen Hurts. They're 14th in pressure allowed and they also don't block linebackers especially well in the run game.
Sunday's battle against the Lions, another NFC heavyweight, is the biggest game remaining on Philly's schedule.
A pair of star-studded NFC foes will battle it out to close Week 10, as the Eagles take on the Packers inside Lambeau Field on Monday Night Football.
