According to the 13-count indictment, 37-year-old Joel Brown was keeping 11 dogs for fighting purposes in Franklin County.

Prosecutors accused Joel Brown, 37, of possessing nearly a dozen pit bull-type dogs for the purposes of dog fighting.

Lonnie Poindexter, 56, will also be sentenced to 5 years probation — a period for which he will be prohibited from possessing any animals, records show.
