Young almost tossed the Orioles' first perfect game, taking his bid at history into the eighth inning before losing it in heartbreaking fashion on an infield single by Ramon Urias. Young's final line included eight innings pitched with one hit, no walks, no earned runs, and six strikeouts.

For Cade Povich and Brandon Young, the rest of the season will be a chance to prove what they can do. "There's a lot of equal standing right now for guys," Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino said.
