COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The lone surviving firefighter in Sunday’s ambush near Coeur d’Alene, continues to make progress. According to the Coeur d’Alene Fire Department, Dave Tysdal remains in the ICU, but his condition has improved from critical to stable.

The Coeur d’Alene Fire Department provided an update on one of the firefighters critically injured during a shooting that left two other firefighters dead.

Two firefighters were killed and residents were ordered to shelter in place, but the order was lifted after police found a dead man in the woods.
