President Donald Trump’s auto tariffs will cost Ford $1.5 billion this year, but the automaker said Monday it does not expect overall US car prices to rise significantly as a result.

Ford Motor Co. suspended its full-year financial guidance and said President Donald Trump’s auto tariffs will take a toll on profit, joining rivals stung by volatile global trade policies. The automaker expects the duties to reduce 2025 adjusted earnings before interest and taxes by about $1.

The automaker said its estimate of how much tariffs would hurt its finances include changes the company was making to reduce costs, including buying more parts and producing more vehicles in the United States. Excluding those measures, Ford expects tariffs to cost it $2.5 billion.
