A man was killed in a shooting in a residential neighborhood in southeast Kansas City Monday, police said.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Around 2:30 Wednesday morning, Jan. 22, Kansas City, Kansas police responded to calls from a home reporting a man shot and killed. The house sits due east of the 18th Street Expressway and Metropolitan Ave. and just south of the Kaw River. Upon arrival, the man was found shot and killed inside the home.

KANSAS CITY —A Jackson County judge sentenced a Kansas City man to 10 years in prison for a shooting that caused serious physical injury to a juvenile, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Melesa Johnson. Jeremy Brown, Jr., 21, pled guilty to Unlawful Use of a Weapon last year.

Police found a man who had been shot and killed near Ruby Avenue and South Valley. He is an adult male.

Authorities say a man was walking in the crosswalk at Truman Road and Bennington Avenue around 11pm when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle left the crash scene and police are working to identify and track down the vehicle and the driver.
