Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes, the movie adapts the beloved 2002 animated movie by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois into the live-action medium, which is a pattern Disney has been following for years.

Disney's latest live-action remake of one of its much-loved animated films, "Lilo & Stitch" is an adorable, heartfelt, and aggressively safe reimagining of the 2002 original. The adventures of Experiment 626 (who's still voiced by Chris Sanders) and Lilo Pelekai (Maia Kealoha) are arguably a better fit for the live-action treatment than most Disney classics.

In the original 2002 Lilo & Stitch film, Captain Gantu was the big, towering alien working for the Galactic Federation. He was basically Stitch’s main enemy, chasing him across Earth like an alien version of the Men in Black. But he is gone in the new version.
