The Arizona Diamondbacks are reportedly working on an extension for franchise second baseman Ketel Marte, potentially worth up to $100 million, according to insider Mike Rodriguez.
Ketel Marte has agreed to a six-year, $116 million extension, ESPN’s Jesse Rogers reported Wednesday. Marte, who had already been signed through the 2028 season, can make up to $149.5 million with escalators in the extension. MLB.com reported that Marte can opt out of his deal after 2030.
The Diamondbacks have signed Ketel Marte to a new extension through 2031. It is worth $116.5m, $64m of which is new money.
