The Supreme Court has ruled for a Texas death row inmate who's seeking DNA testing to show he should be ineligible for execution.

Ruben Gutierrez is challenging the constitutionality of a state law that restricts death row inmates from seeking tests that he says will prove he’s not a murderer.

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Ruben Gutierrez, a man sentenced to death in Texas, can move forward with a federal civil rights lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the state's DNA testing procedures.
