A day after it was announced that a Steve Pagliuca led group made a massive $325 million offer to buy the Connecticut Sun from the Mohegan Sun tribe and move the WNBA team to Boston, the Celtics minority owner confirmed the reports and released an important update on social media.

Pagliuca released a statement Sunday, confirming an offer had been made to buy the team and move it out of Mohegan Sun Arena, but said there were still approvals that had not been obtained from the WNBA.

Steve Pagliuca, a prospective buyer of the Connecticut Sun, confirmed his group’s interest in purchasing the franchise, but said that no transaction has been agreed upon yet in a statement released Sunday evening. Pagliuca said that their offer is subject to obtaining the required league approvals.
