The findings are a stark illustration of how many — but not all — Americans have felt less of a sense of pride in their country over the past decade.

Americans are no longer proud to be American. A record-low 58 percent of adults said they were “extremely or very proud” to be American—a slump of nine percent from 2024 and still five points below the previous low from 2020,

Democrats largely drove the drop, while Republicans’ level of national pride kept steady. Younger Americans are also less likely to be proud of their country.
