The redevelopment of the terminal will result in closure of check-in and TSA areas from Jan. 21 until sometime in 2026.

The Houston Airport System has launched FlyHouston Rewards, a passenger loyalty program that allows travelers to earn points and cashback on shopping, dining and parking at Bush and Hobby Airports and at more than 100 airports across the U.S.

The Terminal B lobby at George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will temporarily close on Jan. 21, marking a significant milestone in United Airlines ’ $2.5 billion project to redevelop the terminal. The lobby is expected to reopen in 2026, according to a Houston Airport System press release.

The Bush Airport’s terminal lobbies are used for check-in, TSA security and baggage claim. These operations for Terminal B flights will be redirected to Terminal C, according to the Houston Airport System.

Airports in the Houston, Texas area have temporarily shut down operations as the state braces for brutal blizzard conditions and winds of up to 35 miles per hour.

Airport officials said they would monitor weather conditions throughout the day Tuesday to decide if the airports will resume operations Wednesday.
