That doesn’t necessarily mean the city has more rats per square mile — only that San Francisco’s rat population seems to have grown faster than those in other cities. Toronto, New York and Amsterdam ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively. Of the cities studied, only Tokyo, New Orleans and Louisville saw decreases in population.

Three men in DOGE shirts showed up to San Francisco City Hall demanding city files. The men are not believed to actually be DOGE representatives, authorities said.
