Brad Marchand, the Florida Panthers' new star, is making waves both on and off the ice. After a successful first playoff round and leading against the Toronto Maple Leafs, a video of Marchand has gone viral.
Throughout the playoffs, Marner and Marchand have scored 12 and eight total points, respectively, although Marner has appeared in one more game than his older foe as the Leafs played a six-game first-round series against the Panthers' five-game one.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have already lost Anthony Stolarz for an undetermined amount of time after he was elbowed in the head by Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.
Panthers forward Brad Marchand is a free agent at the end of this postseason, and he could head to a division rival.
Brad Marchand ensured the Panthers won't face down an 0-3 series hole against the Maple Leafs -- and he made NHL history in the process.
The four-word post wasn't the first time Bissonnette has taken aim at Marchand and the Panthers. At the start of the month, ahead of the start of the Maple Leafs-Panthers series, Bissonnette warned Florida. “Now it's on to Goliath, the Florida Panthers, and we have unfinished business with you,” Bissonnette said.
It was a far less dramatic game in Winnipeg as the Jets handily defeated the Dallas Stars, 4-0, to tie their second-round series at one game apiece. Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a goal and an assist, while goaltender Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 22 shots that he faced for his first shutout this postseason.
It was Marchand’s 12th goal and 33rd playoff point in 31 games against the Maple Leafs, tying Henri Richard for the third-most playoff points against Toronto all-time. He trails only Gordie Howe ’s 53 points in 55 games and Alex Delvecchio ’s 35 points in 41 games.
