The infectious gastrointestinal virus has swept through the Queen Mary 2, flagship vessel of Cunard Line, affecting more than 240 people during a return voyage across the Atlantic.

The report comes after the CDC shared on March 31, that 12 of the 461 passengers on Seabourn Cruise Line's Seabourn Encore ship fell ill due to a norovirus outbreak. Among the crew members, 22 of the 405 were also unwell. The ship, which began sailing on March 16, is scheduled to conclude on April 9.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that 241 people, including passengers and crew members of the Queen Mary 2, from Cunard Line, experienced norovirus symptoms.
