2.) Detroit's starting defense included ends Al-Quadin Muhammad and Pat O'Connor, tackles Chris Smith and Myles Adams, linebackers Trevor Nowaske, Zach Cunningham and Stuard, cornerbacks Nick Whiteside and Allan George and safeties Rock Ya-Sin and Erick Hallett.

As expected, no starters were allowed on the field against the Texans which allowed the team to escape very clean. The Lions philosophy the entire preseason of not playing any starters (except for rookies) has helped keep the team healthy entering the regular season.
