A federal judge in Tennessee has ruled that Kilmar Abrego Garcia will stay in jail for now over concerns from his lawyers that he could be deported if he’s released.

Justice Department attorney Jonathan Guynn said the removal proceedings would be to a 'third country.' But the prosecutor also said there are 'no imminent plans' to deport Abrego Garcia.

The Trump administration plans to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a “third country” eventually, meaning not El Salvador, where he is from and was mistakenly sent back to earlier this year.
