Two-time Olympic alpine ski gold medalist Mikaela Shiffrin has joined the ownership group of Denver's expansion National Women's Soccer League team.

The big picture: Denver's National Women's Soccer League team announced Tuesday that Shiffrin, a Colorado native, has joined an ownership team led by IMA Financial Group CEO Rob Cohen. Vail-born Shiffrin has amassed 101 World Cup wins, two Olympic titles, and numerous other accolades in her illustrious career.
