Satellite images analyzed by The New York Times show the extent of damage at the three nuclear facilities hit by the United States. Fordo is Iran’s most critical nuclear enrichment facility, housed deep inside a mountain to shield it from attacks.

President Donald Trump said the strikes, which he described as “very successful,” had hit the Natanz, Fordo and Isfahan sites, with Fordo being the primary target. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran confirmed there were attacks early Sunday at all three nuclear sites.

In the first American military strike ever on Iran, dubbed Operation Midnight Hammer, the US on June 21 dropped 14 of the largest conventional bombs in its arsenal on the country’s facilities for producing enriched uranium.
